The Story Of A Soshanguve Rising Star, Sfiso ‘Snazzy S-Kid’ Mhlanga.

Sfiso Mhlanga(23) is a Soshanguve-based performing artist and songwriter known as Snaazy S-Kid. He was born and bred in Soshanguve. He began his music career in 2016 as part of an acapella group in high school, where his vocals captivated his peers and superiors.

“My love for music had an instructive beginning. I drew inspiration from the likes of Mlindo The Vocalist , Something Soweto and The Soil,whom are by far the best and successful artists in the country. I look up to them and always have been a fan of their work. I was at some point dubbed ‘Suzan’ on the streets.” said Snaazy S-Kid.

Snaazy S-Kid released his debut single “Hlala Nami” in 2018, gaining a platform to connect with a wider audience. He built his fan base independently and collaborated with various artists in 2019. Year 2020 Snaazy released afro-pop singles like ‘Asambeni, Better life and Bayeke’.

This Afro-pop infused with Amapiano star has delivered a list of impressive tracks like ‘Masuper, Ganda Ganda, Gogo, shaking the music industry with no mercy. “Some of the hit that lived to showcase my full potential is ‘Squad Sam’, in honour of my crew and friends that I love and treasure, featuring May Muzzique and Lungile Womhlaba.

Been one of the best around his hood and maintaining the spot always came with challenges, but Snaazy refused to turn back. His passion for music kept him going throughout the storms. Snaazy had his fair share and mixed reviews from where he always played out for different crowd, and market.

It’s no surprise that this young rising star has had the opportunity to share the stage with big names in the industry. Getting the chance to perform alongside renowned artists like Sjeh Konka, Khanyi Mbau, Somizi, and Aymos and has appeared on national TV, doing what he does best. “The biggest challenge is when an artist like myself usually travels long distance to perform and the organisers turn on our agreement”. Snaazy S-Kid tell Reddot that he has once travelled to an event and ended up not being paid the remaining amount.

Nonetheless the aspiring Artist, in the near future wants to see himself continue making music with legendaries in the industry, reaching his full potential.
