CAPADONA ZA, born LEKOKO CHEGO, is making waves in South Africa’s music scene. This Lekompo producer and DJ brings the heat from Ga-Sekhukhune, Limpopo, with his unique sound and infectious beats. Based in Johannesburg, Capadona is an Audio Engineering graduate with a passion for music that knows no bounds.

With professional training in Music Theory, specializing in piano, Capadona’s skills go beyond just a hobby. He’s a master of his craft, evident in his productions. His love affair with Lekompo music began when he discovered the genre, and he’s been hooked ever since.
Capadona’s got hits to his name, and they’re making waves. “Fasa Diteki” featuring Emily Mohobs was just the start, followed by the sizzling “ATM”, another collaboration with Emily that’s dominating Lekompo playlists. These tracks are just a taste of what’s to come from this talented producer.
But Capadona’s not stopping at just his own success – he’s on a mission to take Lekompo music global. He dreams of being part of the generation that puts Limpopo on the map, showcasing the rich music culture of his homeland to the world. And with his collaborations with other Lekompo artists, it’s clear he’s committed to growing the scene.
His name, “Capadona ZA” tells a story of evolution. A seasoned veteran in the deep house scene, also known as Kaleido. But as he ventured into Lekompo music, he adopted a new persona – Capadona ZA. “I didn’t want to confuse my following,” he explains. “Kaleido is deep house, Capadona ZA is Lekompo. I wanted people to know me as someone who’s exploring new sounds.”
A familiar face in South Africa’s music circles, Kaleido has been producing music for years. It was just two years ago that he caught the Lekompo bug, and only in August year 2025, he dropped his first Lekompo singles, featuring the likes of Emily Mohobs. Now, as Capadona ZA, he’s on a mission to take this vibrant genre global – while keeping his deep house roots alive, albeit behind the mask.

But the mask isn’t forever. Capadona reveals he’s wary of impersonators cashing in on his masked persona. “What’s scary would be cases where people host events, pretending to be me,” he says. So, he’s planning to reveal his face eventually, putting an end to the mystery. When he’s not in the studio or behind the decks, Lekoko is staying true to himself. As he says, “Always be a first-rate version of yourself and not a second-rate version of someone else.” This mantra drives him to innovate, create, and push the boundaries of what’s possible.
